Amina Khayyam's solo performance ONE uses the cyclic phenomenon of South Asian classical dance, where there is no beginning or end. ONE tells contemporary stories of migrants tarnished by media and politicians for cheap exploitation, spreading fear for those risking their lives to make a better future.

BIRD, the Lustrum Award Winner at Edinburgh Fringe 2023, is a stage sequel to AKDC’s critically acclaimed dance film ‘Catch The Bird Who Won’t Fly’. Opening with a silent scream, BIRD poses a question that crosses the mind of many women stuck in abusive relationship: "Where I will go?" “Will anyone believe me?" High energy Kathak weaves the story to a specially commissioned live music score by Jonathan Mayer.

Live music for BIRD features Debasish Mukherjee on tabla, Iain McHugh on cello and Jonathan Mayer on sitar; For ONE also Sohini Alam on vocals and Jane Chan on parhanth.
